Abstract

"First Steps of a Little Artist" is a piano method book designed for early childhood education, with a special emphasis on inclusivity for children with autism. Recognizing the unique cognitive and sensory needs of autistic learners, this book incorporates structured yet flexible teaching approaches that cater to their strengths and challenges. The method emphasizes visual cues, predictable patterns, and multi-sensory learning techniques to enhance engagement and comprehension.

The book also integrates social and emotional learning components, helping children develop focus, coordination, and self-expression through music. Activities are designed to reduce sensory overload while maintaining a stimulating and enjoyable learning environment. By fostering creativity and musical awareness in a way that aligns with neurodivergent learning styles, First Steps of a Little Artist aims to make piano education more accessible and enjoyable for autistic children, empowering them with the tools to explore music at their own pace.
